SUMMER SEASON 2015
El miércoles 5 de Agosto a las 19:00h en el Art House Zinema habrá una nueva sesión de cortometrajes de la mano del festival itinerante FUTURE SHORTS.
Future Shorts es un festival de cortometrajes de alcance internacional, presente en más de 90 países y en 150 ciudades.
Como es habitual, el programa tendrá una duración de aproximadamente 90 minutos, presentando cortometrajes de diversos géneros que van desde el drama a la comedia pasando por la animación, y sin olvidar el género documental.
Entrada libre hasta completar el aforo.
THE CHICKEN
Dir: Una Gunjak | Croacia 2014 | 15min | Drama
Sarajevo, 1993. Selma recibe un pollo vivo como regalo en su 6º cumpleaños. Cuando se entera de que su familia va a matar al animal para alimentarse, decide salvarlo y liberarlo, inconsciente de los altos riesgos que ello supondría. Mientras tratan de recuperar el pollo perdido, la madre de Selma se convierte en el blanco de un disparo de francotirador.
It’s Sarajevo, 1993. As a present for her 6th birthday, Selma gets a live chicken. When she realises the animal is going to be killed to feed the family, she decides to save it and set it free, unaware of the high stakes such action will lead to. While trying to bring back the missing chicken, Selma’s mum becomes a target of a sniper shoot.
THE TREE

Notas de Sare: La historia trata sobre una mujer y un árbol, ambos pertenecientes a una tierra. Quieren permanecer allí incluso durante la guerra, porque sus raíces pertenecen a su tierra. Así que sólo se tienen el uno al otro durante la guerra.
Notes from Sare: The story is about a woman and a tree, both of them belong to a land. They want to be there even during the war, because they rooted in their land. So they are the only companion for each other during the war.
EMERGENCY CALLS

Ser humano es una frágil y huidiza oportunidad para experimentar la vida y el universo a nuestro alrededor. Ante una sobrecogedora oscuridad lo único que podemos hacer es confiar y encontrar refugio en los demás. La película está basada en llamadas de emergencia reales y radio traffic.
Being human is a fragile and fleeting opportunity to experience life and the universe around us. In the face of overwhelming darkness all we can do is to rely on and find solace in one another. The film is based on authentic emergency calls and radio traffic.
THE NOISEMAKER
Dir: Karolis Kaupinis | Lituania 2014 | 15min | Drama / Humor oscuro
Una lejana escuela provincial está esperando a una delegación oficial del Ministerio. Están a punto de traer un nuevo timbre de escuela. Aunque no es lo que la escuela necesita. Habiendo encogido a lo largo de los años, le faltan dos alumnos para satisfacer la cuota gubernamental exigida a todo colegio del país para poder subsistir. El regalo de la capital es una amenaza a la supervivencia de la escuela. Adelantándose a la llegada de la delegación, el director se esfuerza al máximo en ocultar la falta de alumnos y evitar el inevitable cierre de la escuela.
A distant provincial school is waiting for an official delegation from the Ministry. They’re about to bring a new school bell. This is not what the school needs though. Having shrunk throughout the years, it lacks two pupils to satisfy the governmental quota established for any school in the country to exist. The gift from the capital is a threat for the survival of the school. Anticipating the arrival of the delegation, the principal makes his best to mask the lack of pupils and avoid the unavoidable school closure.
STRAY DOGS

The sun beats down. Frank waits for the bus. His ice cream melts. A stranger asks to borrow his phone. Stray dogs roam the streets.
SCHOOLYARD

A través de medios experimentales, la directora genera un frenesí de imágenes inquietantes que suscita más de una pregunta en su audiencia. Absoluto silencio en las aulas desiertas. Un boli cae silencioso, un baloncesto falla en entrar al aro – capturas de una escena en la que los alumnos abandonan el edificio de la escuela. Aún en uniforme, se rocían con agua jocosamente. De pronto, el ambiente cambia.
Using experimental means, the filmmaker generates an unsettling frenzy of images which poses quite a few questions to her audience. Absolute silence in the deserted classrooms. A pen drops silently, a basketball misses the hoop – snapshots of a scene in which pupils leave the school building. Still in their uniforms, they playfully spray each other with water. Suddenly, the mood turns.
STORM HITS JACKET

Los hermanos De Smet crearon un sistema para vivir sus vidas como solteros de la forma más cómoda. Cuando una nueva mujer se muda a su calle, su sinergia se convierte en un castillo de naipes.
The brothers ‘De Smet’ created a system to live their lives as singles in the most comfortable way. When a new woman moves into their street, their synergy turns out to be a house of cards.
